My Bio

Robert “Bob” Kamena has been providing services to the Community for more than a quarter century. He has been a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC II) in good standing with the State of California since 1994. Bob is currently affiliated with CADTP as a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor III. In 1995 Bob was a primary creator of El Dorado County’s first collaborative dual diagnosis program between a private 501c3 not for profit company and county mental health system.

Bob has extensive experience in the application of principals, practices, and methods of interviewing, assessing clients and families for Substance Use disorder and other addictions. In 1997, he was called to focus service provision for two specialty populations different from primary Substance Use populations. Ironically Substance Use disorder is pervasive in both of these specialty populations.

One population was the chronically and persistently mentally ill population. The other was the developmentally disabled population.  He has worked for El Dorado County Mental Health Department, as a Mental Health Case Manager/ Mental Health Worker II. He has also served as an on call Psychiatric Crisis Worker in the Mental Health Dept for 15 years. In the private sector, his company Creative Life Solutions currently provides support services to Developmentally Disabled Alta California Regional clients, so that they can live in the community independently.

Bob continues to refine his skills with diverse populations including probation & parole clients reentering into the community. He is in service to his Community as a trained Community Emergency Response Team member, as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, Life Skills Instructor, Health Education Coordinator, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Intervention Specialist, and a Gateway Intervention Professional.
